Staycation

This spring break we mastered the Staycation.  We played a lot, relaxed a little, and worked just enough to avoid feeling guilty.

Trivia at Buffalo Wild Wings.  Tubing at Arctic Valley.  Lots-o-board games.  A poker party, a vet appointment for Rosie, and Alyeska ski school for the kids.    Maggie and I whipped up a batch of homemade lotion – when else do you have time for that?  We celebrated pi day on 3.14.16 with pot pies for dinner and pumpkin pie for dessert.  We binge watched Modern Family until the wee hours of the night, and slept in every morning.  Sam finished reading Hunger Games, so we watched the movie with him while Maggie was off at a slumber party.  Oh, and speaking of our lovely daughter, I “tortured” her by forcing her to go shopping for some new clothes.  I had to drag her kicking and screaming to the mall, but once we got there it turned into a great afternoon.

With all that fun, it’s a wonder we had time to clean out some closets and mop a few floors.  I had good intentions of washing the washing machine, but a single week isn’t enough time for that kind of craziness.

Good times and a good week.  We are all rejuvenated, and ready to hit the home stretch of this school year!
