For the past eight years the kids have happily dressed up in coordinating Halloween costumes. Eight years of adorableness. Eight years of sibling love. Eight years of sewing and face paint.
2008 – Jack in the Boxes (so stinking adorable)
2009 – Nebraska Cornhuskers
2010 – Tom and Jerry
2011 – Rapunzel and Pascal
2012 – Scary Skeleton and Witch
2013 – Magician and Rabbit
2014 – Harry and Hermione (honestly – the best ever)
2015 – Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My
Eight years!!

I’ll admit, there was a moment when I thought our themed Halloween tradition was dead. But I’m a librarian damnit, and where there’s a will there’s a way. And then it hit me: The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Thank you, Washington Irving. Thank you, Icahbod Craine.
I’d like to introduce you to the Headless Horseman and the Horse Jockey. This, my friends, is a horse-themed Halloween:
I’ll admit it’s a stretch, but they’re happy. I’m happy. Another year, another theme!
Here are some more photos from this year’s Halloween fun:
